Have you met this Hottie? – Introducing Kathy Jackson from Desire Unleashed by Layne Macadam
TD Hassett: You’re not Kathy Jackson. (Eyes spring wide and goofy grin appears on face as gorgeous hunk walks into the room and sits down)
Shane: No. I’m Shane, Kathy’s husband, or Ice if you prefer. Kathy’s been throwing up all morning, and sends her apologies, so I’m here to fill in, if you don’t mind.
TD Hassett: No not at all, it’s great to have you, but poor Kathy. All morning you say, so is there anything special you’d like to share?
Shane: Kathy said you wanted to talk about her stalker. I tell you, I almost had heart failure when I realized that SOB had her. I would have killed him too, for what he did to her, had Frosty not been there to stop me.
TD Hassett: Nice sidestep Shane. So tell us, is that when you first realized you were in love with Kathy.
Shane: Nah, I was truly a dumbass and fought it all the way. We broke up you know. The guys and I were deployed on a rescue mission to Cambodia, and that’s when I realized I couldn’t live without her. I took a bullet, but the minute I was released from hospital, I wanted to put things right between us, but she’d left town. Wolf helped track her down and flew across country with me. I was still not fully recovered you see, so the guys thought I needed a minder. When we got to her house, and I saw the old boyfriend through the window, I thought I’d lost her. Worst moment of my life.
TD Hassett: You and your team were pretty tight, but I hear you’re no longer a SEAL.
Shane: That’s right, and we’re more than just tight, we’re family. When I took a medical discharge they voted to keep the team together. Frosty resigned, followed by Havoc, and Hawk, encouraged by Wolf.
TD Hassett: Wolf otherwise known as glamour boy. I hear Layne intends to write his story next.
Shane: Yeah, well, I wouldn’t hold my breath. He goes to a lot of trouble keeping his private life private, so she’d better have a rethink on that one.
Book Title: Desire Unleashed
When schoolteacher Kathy Bellamy moved from Louisiana to Coronado, she didn’t expect her secret dream or her worst nightmare to become a reality.
Kathy longs for the fairytale. An old-fashioned girl saving herself for the right guy, after one date with Navy SEAL Shane Jackson, she trashes her values and willingly tumbles into the sack without a thought for the consequences.
Confirmed bachelor and relationship cynic, Jackson has no room in his life for a permanent woman. Temporary liaisons are all he is up for. Cocky and self-assured, he believes he can pick a like-minded player at a glance. So when he discovers Kathy is the complete antithesis of what he believed her to be, he is thrown into a tailspin.
But before long and way out of his comfort zone, he finds himself knee deep in a relationship he can’t quite seem to end.
Kathy’s love life is evolving parallel with a nightmare. The object of a maniac’s obsession, when she throws caution to the wind and acts out of character, her actions are seen as a betrayal by her stalker that demand retribution in blood. Abducted at knife-point, and taken to a secret location, can Shane, who is the ultimate predator, find and rescue her before it’s too late.
I live with my husband, two dogs and a cat on the beautiful east coast of Australia. I have a full-time job and a degree in history.
I’ve always been an avid reader, and I love a happy ending, so writing romance seemed a natural progression for me. But as I sat at the computer one day staring at a blank screen it all seemed rather daunting. Once I finally started tapping on the keys though, the words kept flowing and before I knew it I’d written my first book. I write contemporary romance, and sci-fi. I’m currently working on Desire Denied, Book 2 in the Desire Series. I have ideas for an historical romance in the future, and with thoughts of a Wolf shifter germinating in my head a paranormal romance is not outside the realms of possibility either.
When I’m not writing you might find me in the kitchen creating culinary delights, some dishes of course do turn out better than others!! I guess my love of history has fueled my other passion which is travel, and I have been fortunate enough to have seen lots of this wonderful world we live in.
